Specialising in surgical and non-surgical procedures, paediatrics, men’s health, antenatal care, and chronic disease management, he is the principal doctor at Myhealth Medical Centre in Rhodes, New South Wales, Australia.

Dr. Faisal Qidwai is a man of varied interests. He is especially passionate about healthcare and innovative technologies, regularly attending conferences, seminars, and workshops that bridge these fields.

A self-described “relentless learner,” Dr. Qidwai has devoted years of his life to academic excellence and intellectual pursuits. He is extremely well-read, having immersed himself in literature related to medicine, engineering, advanced science, and technology. Even today, he attributes his ability to remain at the vanguard of medicine and philanthropy to his devotion to lifelong learning.

Early Foray Into Engineering

Faisal Qidwai began attending the University of New South Wales, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. He opted to pursue this educational path due to his fascination with problem-solving and design.

By the time he graduated from the university, Faisal had an in-depth understanding of project management, construction, and technical innovation. This formed a solid foundation for his early profession, which involved working on major developments with many publicly listed companies.

Whether working on residential developments, commercial fit-outs, or infrastructure upgrades, Faisal consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership in management team coordination, contract administration, and overseeing quality control.

Even after he transitioned to a medical career, he credits his engineering background for his development of methodical thinking and problem-solving abilities. These skills later proved invaluable for handling complex medical cases.

Transition to Law and Medicine

Despite his potential as an engineer, Faisal was driven to explore other career paths. He enrolled in the Law Faculty of the University of New South Wales in 2004 but discontinued his studies to pursue other opportunities in medicine and community health.

To this end, he enrolled in Bond University in 2006, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine degree in 2010, specialising in surgery. Faisal proved himself more than up to the challenge of the prestigious and demanding medical program, consistently ranking at the top of his classes in practical and theoretical assessments.

While at Bond University, Faisal regularly volunteered in student-run clinics, conducting basic health assessments and assisting underserved Gold Coast communities. He also actively participated in research initiatives for improving healthcare delivery among culturally diverse populations.

Among the highlights of his medical career are residencies at Nepean Public Hospital, completion of a Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course, and the in-depth study of surgical assistance and skin excision. This latter achievement enabled him to develop a precise surgical technique that would later inform his career in skin cancer management.

Dr. Qidwai also earned a diploma in child health from Westmead Children’s Hospital in 2014, strengthening his expertise in paediatric care. The following year, he earned his fellowship at the Royal Australian College of General Practice, reinforcing his standing as a general practitioner.

Dr. Qidwai completed an advanced skills course in skin and cancer surgery in 2018, paving the way toward his future specialisation. He also practiced comprehensive dermoscopy and excision at the Seven Hills Skin Cancer Clinic and underwent further training in these fields, along with courses in sedation and vasectomy.

Among his many notable contributions to the medical community, Dr. Qidwai is most proud of his involvement with Myhealth Medical Centre. More than just a place of employment, the clinic is a manifestation of his genuine desire to serve others through medicine.

Espousing the clinic’s principles of holistic healthcare and patient-centric services, Dr. Qidwai was appointed the principal doctor at the facility in 2015. In this role, he built a multidisciplinary team focused on providing comprehensive patient care and facilitating specialist referrals.

Philanthropic Work

Dr. Qidwai has long had a passion for community service and charitable work due in large part to his early exposure to philanthropy. From a very early age, his parents instilled in him the value of serving others in need and taught him the virtue of giving back to the community. This set the stage for the charity-focused endeavors he would continue to pursue throughout the rest of his life.

Among the charitable organisations Dr. Qidwai has supported over the years is the Aboriginal Medical Services in Sydney, which provides free check-ups, mobile clinics, and culturally sensitive care. He has also lent his support to community organisations focused on Sydney’s Muslim population, assisting with medical screenings, health education, and referrals.
